Official Opening of the the Koo Wee Rup Trail - start in the car park of the new Pakenham Station at 10 am

January 15, 2026 – First Ride for 2026 - start at Woori Yallock at 9 am
Meet in the car park at Woori Yallock Station in time for a 9 am start. We will be riding towards Lilydale before meeting at the Carriage Cafe for morning tea at 11 am. All riders can choose how far they wish to ride.

This is our first ride for 2026
January 17, 2026 – First Eastern Suburbs Ride for 2026 - start ay Pakenham at 9 am
Meet in the car park of the Cardinia Cultural Centre in Pakenham in time for a 9 am start. The ride will be around 40 km with a morning tea stop along the way. After the ride all the riders are invited to stay around for lunch in the cafe by the lake.
January 19, 2026 – Monday Morning Ride - start at FTG at 9 am
Meet in the car park of the FTG library in time for 9 am start.
January 22, 2026 – Alternate Thursday Ride - start at Stud Rd at 10 am
Meet in the car park of the Stud Rd Indoor Basketball Stadium in time for a 10 am start.
January 26, 2026 – Special Australia Day Ride - Kilcunda to Cowes - start at Kilcunda at 10 am
The ride will officially start at Kilcunda (opposite the coffee shop) at 10 am. We will follow the Bass Coast Rail Trail to Anderson, then proceed via San Remo to Cowes. Those that want a longer ride could start at the Wonthaggi Mitre 10 at 9 am and follow the full length of the rail trail to join the rest at Kilcunda.

Because of predicted high temperatures the ride will be shortened accordingly. After the ride you are invited to stay behind in the air conditioned comfort of the cafe by the lakeside. More

We will be following the bike path and boardwalk to Balnarring and back. Lunch will be at the Tulum Store at Balnarring Beach. More

26 Australia Day - Special RIde - Anderson to Cowes - start at 10 am NEW DATE - SUNDAY 26TH JAN N/A January 26, 2025 After consideration it has been decided to bring this forward to Sunday 26th Jan, This is because the weather on Monday would be entirely unsuitable for riding. The weather on Sunday is looking perfect with a top temperature in the low 20s. We have now been informed that the Annual Kilcunda Lobster Festival is being held on Sunday. That means that parking in and around Kilcunda will be difficult. The official start for this ride has now been shifted to the Anderson roundabout (just up the hill from Kilcunda). The start time will be 10 am. There are toilets at the car park. If you want to start a little further on, you could join at Lookout Rd at around 10.15 am. Alternatively you could meet us at San Remo (probably around 10.35 am) This ride replaces the regular FTG Monday Morning Ride. More

30 Official Opening of the the Koo Wee Rup Trail - start in the car park of the new Pakenham Station at 10 am N/A January 30, 2025 We have been invited by the people behind the Victoria's Big Build to participate in the opening of the new Koo Wee Rup Trail from Pakenham to Koo Wee Rup. In return for our participation, they will bribe us with free coffee. The plans are still being finalised, but the start point will be the car park of the new Pakenham Station at 10 am. Please meet there and await further instructions. Apparently we will be filmed and photographed and our progress may even be followed by official drone camera. After the welcome at the start, we will be making our way to Gloria Jeans for our free coffees, before joining the new trail to Koo Wee Rup. Lunch will be at Deganis Cafe in Koo Wee Rup. More
