Plans for our Overseas Adventures in 2018 and 2019

Many of you would already know that I have been quietly working on plans for our overseas rides and adventures for the next couple of years. It is now time to make the initial details of these rides public.

Our first adventure in 2018 will be our long awaited Antarctica Exploration Adventure. This will take place in February 2018 and applications are now closed for this once in a lifetime adventure.

Later in 2018 I plan to return to Europe to undertake a completely different type of adventure. While all our previous 18 European adventures have all been based around cycling, this time we will be walking on our own two legs. The Camino Trail is the most famous pilgrim trail in Europe and to walk this trail is a dream that many people have clung to for much of their lives. There are many ways to do the Camino Trail but I have come up with a plan which I think will be both meaningful and a huge amount of fun. The Camino Trail will be combined with an optional 8 day self guided cycling tour of the castles and vineyards of Portugal. Spaces will be limited to approximately 16 so you need to register your interest early to ensure priority placements.

In 2019 I plan to return to France to complete a ride along the extended Loire a Velo Bicycle Path. We have already ridden part of this route in 2013 and 2015, but the trail has now been extended further upstream so that we can explore the wilder countryside between Nevers and Orleans. This trip will be combined with an optional 8 day bike and barge adventure around Provence. Spaces limited to 16 participants.

All of the above trips are timed for September/October, although the exact dates are not yet finalised. More details can be found in the “Overseas Adventures” section of this website. Now is the time to register your interest as I suspect that places will fill very quickly indeed.
