With the announcement of Victoria’s “Roadmap” to recovery, it is time to start making tentative plans for the resumption of our group rides. It is our understanding that we will be able to conduct small group rides (up to 10 people), when the vaccination rate hits 70% fully vaccinated. This is expected to occur sometime around the 20th of October.
At the same time our travel radius will increase to 25 km from home. That means we will be able to return to most of our popular cycling routes.
Our plan is therefore to conduct two or more concurrent rides, starting at locations in different parts of Melbourne. The first two locations will be Stud Rd and Jells Park. We may also need a third start point at Croydon. Any rider wishing to join one of these rides will need to first contact the ride leader to check that spaces are available.
It is also important to note that, according to the government guidelines, all riders must be fully vaccinated. I know that the vast majority of our riders are already vaccinated, however if there are any that have still not taken this critical step, NOW would be the time to start.
More details will be posted as soon as dates are known.
