March 11, 2024

Due to the predicted 38C top temperature, I have had no alternative than to cancel this ride. It would be unsafe, unpleasant, unwise and probably illegal to ride on the rail trail in such conditions. It is disappointing, but the health of our riders is the highest priority.

Stay home, stay safe, stay cool

March 19, 2024

This is one for the proud ebike riders. If you have always wanted to try out your ebike on a significant hill climb, then this is your chance. The ride will start at Coronation Park in Healesville and then follow Chum Creek Rd to Toolangi, before continuing to the Mt St Leonards turnoff. Finally we have about 2 km of unsealed road to take us to the Lookout Tower at the summit of Mt St Leonards. The total climb will be around 700 metres, but it is not extreme (around 4% for most of the climb). After we reach the summit we will return via the same (downhill) route back to Healesville and a celebratory coffee at the Beechworth Bakery.
